Frames with a tad of tiquing...

HIS completed frame

HER completed frame

1. Find a frame you like and spray paint it with white primer. This frame happened to start out black.

2. Choose your favorite acrylic color. I chose pink and blue because I have a little boy who is 28 months and a little girl on the way. I look forward to putting pictures of the kids in each of these frames.

3. Dilute brown acrylic paint with water.

4. Apply watered down brown paint to the frames. Dab excess brown paint from the 'hilly' contour of the frame leaving the tiquing effect in the 'valleys'. I used a paper towel to do this. Be careful not to do it too much as it will remove the first layer of color. Allow the tiquing to dry over night.

5. Add a little bit of white to your original color. Use it to highlight the 'hilly' contour of the frame.

6. When you highlight the 'hills' it makes the 'valleys' appear darker.

7. Spray paint the final product with a clear matte shellac. Insert photos and admire the work of your hands.

Love Blocks

I was inspired by someone on pinterest to make these blocks. I saw the post prior to becoming a member and could not find it again...

This was a gift I made for an engaged couple. I accomplanied this gift along with items from their registry (as I know those are appreciated). I just have to put a personal touch on gifts. I guess you could say that's my 'gift'.
